What is measured on a website, without cookies

The tracking code doesn’t set cookies or store any identifier in the browser. That’s why it doesn’t need a consent banner under the GDPR and ePrivacy.

The only thing stored in the browser, and only when Core Web Vitals measurement is on, is a counter of measurements sent, without any identifier.

What is stored

  • The pages viewed, the source, the country and city, the device, browser, system, screen and language.
  • Visitors are recognised by an irreversible hash; the IP address is not kept in your statistics.
  • Everything is processed in aggregate and stored on European infrastructure.

In your privacy policy

Mention that you use Overtracking to measure the audience, without cookies and without personal data. You don’t need to ask for consent for it.
